About VET TEC
The VET TEC (Veteran Employment Through Technology Education Courses) pilot program has ended. As a pilot initiative, its 5-year term matched veterans with leading education providers to help them launch a fulfilling career in tech before it expired on April 1, 2024.
If you had previously been interested in using VET TEC benefits for bootcamp, we recommend inquiring with your local Veterans Affairs office about alternative financing options. We also strongly encourage you to write a letter to your senators advocating for VET TEC reinstatement. You can use the following link to locate the contact information for your state's Senators: Find Your Senator.
Why Should Veterans Pursue a Career in Tech?
There’s a growing demand for savvy tech professionals across all industries. The Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates roles for cybersecurity analysts will grow by 25% and software developers by 35% between 2021 and 2031, exceeding the average growth rate of 5%.
Veterans develop sought-after technical acumen and skills during military service that can transfer into a tech career. Through the Fullstack Academy Tech Bootcamps, you’ll expand on your military experience and develop additional skills to help you land a fulfilling career.
Veteran-Friendly Tech Bootcamp Programs
Fullstack Academy is backed by over 10 years of tech training experience—serving civilian and military students of all backgrounds and skill levels. Active-duty service members and military veterans are eligible for the $1,000 Fullstack Academy Military Scholarship, which can be applied toward your tech bootcamp tuition.
How Veterans Can Leverage Their Soft Skills
According to recent data from LinkedIn, 61% of professionals say soft skills are just as important in the workplace as hard skills and can help with career longevity. Many companies look for soft skills, like:
Communication
Critical thinking
Problem-solving
Time management
Resourcefulness
At Fullstack Academy, we understand the growing importance of soft skills in the workplace, which is why we factor soft skill development into our bootcamps. My time at Fullstack Academy helped me to gain a more solid base of cybersecurity and helped me break into an industry that I know I will thrive in. It has been a long journey for me, but to be at a job where I know that I am going to be happy going to every day and working on moving up, it’s the absolute best, and I couldn’t be happier.

Fullstack Academy helped me with my resume tremendously. They taught me how to network, use LinkedIn, and put myself out there. Even after the course ended, my career coach helped me tweak my resume multiple times and was always available for questions.

Fullstack Academy's career coaches helped me with my resume, job search, and tips and tricks for networking. They gave me a realistic timeline of when I might be able to land a job—and it was within 4 months for me. I was in constant communication with the Fullstack Academy support team, and they responded quickly. They helped me in tremendous ways—whether it was preparing for interviews, doing mock interviews, learning how to research companies, tailoring my resume, or preparing for technical interviews.
Jesse-Le Edwards
Fullstack Academy, Technologist @ PwC
My time at Fullstack Academy was a blend of exciting triumphs and tough trials. A standout moment was the final project week before the group projects, a high-intensity stretch where I put all my learning into action. Throughout this journey, my wife's unwavering support – recognizing my dedication to the program – and the camaraderie with fellow learners played an integral role in my achievements. After graduation, I embarked on an exciting path and landed a key role in a startup, Text2Order, as well as a position at Multiverse as a Software Engineering Coach.
