Large Student Coding Projects Games Gudies and Social Apps

Coding bootcamps are designed to prepare students of all starting skill levels for careers in software engineering. At Fullstack Academy, this means developing current, in-demand skills through a project-based curriculum.

The capstone project is a core component of Fullstack Academy tech bootcamps and allows students to showcase what they’ve learned throughout their coding journey.

These projects form the foundation of a professional software engineering portfolio, which graduates can use to show prospective employers.

We’ve compiled 3 coding student presentations that demonstrate how the technical and interpersonal skills learned in bootcamp can culminate in dynamic, functional web applications. Read on to experience what real students have created in the Fullstack Academy Coding Bootcamp.

    1. Blissful Journey: Coding Bootcamp Project

An all-inclusive guide to planning your next vacation, the Blissful Journey website features highly customizable search options. Users can browse locations by personal interests or notable attractions—or be matched to their ideal vacation destination with an interactive personality quiz.

Among other technologies taught in bootcamp, the app utilizes PostgreSQL for database management and to power these more advanced queries.

    2. Pucker Up: Coding Bootcamp Project

Pucker Up is part dating website, part traditional social media. Triggered by a user clicking on another’s profile from a preview, a match is made between the users. From there, users can edit and optimize their profile, carry on direct messages in real-time, view data insights like profile views, and more thanks to a dynamic user interface powered by React.

    3. Tower of Zurpalen: Coding Bootcamp Project

Tower of Zurpalen is a game inspired by classic 8-bit role-playing games like Nintendo’s Legend of Zelda. The team created a captivating story line to encapsulate player features like character customization, levels, and an accessible score history. Thanks to their tech stack of Phaser 3, React and PostgreSQL, the team was able to streamline the development of crucial game-building techniques—including state management and graphics conversion. In the future, the Tower of Zurpalen team hopes to expand the world by building more scenes, fighting tactics, and player interactions.

These full stack coding bootcamp projects are examples of just a few types of web applications you’ll learn how to build in the Fullstack Academy Software Engineering Immersive. As a coding student, the capstone project is your opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge and creativity—in bootcamp and beyond as a professional software engineer.
