How One Veteran's Experience Translates to a Growing Cybersecurity Career

Qualities associated with members of the US military—like dedication, determination and a willingness to serve—are also the qualities that make excellent cybersecurity professionals. As a veteran and contractor working on mass destruction analysis, Zack Throckmorton is an example of someone with a military background who found fulfillment and success in the field of cybersecurity.

During his Cybersecurity Bootcamp experience, Throckmorton gained professional skills—both interpersonal and technical. Through a range of experiences including engaging with his bootcamp cohort and presenting his capstone project, Throckmorton was able to take what he learned in bootcamp to achieve important cybersecurity certifications. He gained a CompTIA Security+ certification and is actively studying for his Certified Ethical Hacker certification.
